A Practical Walkthrough of the Structured Data Report

How to read schema validation errors, fix common JSON-LD issues, and use rich result eligibility data from your crawl.
What structured data does the crawler detect?
During a crawl, every HTML page is scanned for structured data. Jumpple Crawler detects JSON-LD scripts, Microdata and RDFa, records which schema types appear and counts JSON-LD blocks that fail to parse as valid JSON.
Start with coverage
The first question is how many pages have any structured data at all. The Structured Data Detection check in SEO Master reports this as a ratio, for example 0 of 16 pages. If the answer is none, add the basics first: Organization information on the home page, BreadcrumbList on deeper pages and Article markup on editorial content.
Match the type to the page
Schema should describe what is visible on the page. SEO Master has separate checks for FAQ, HowTo, Article, Product, Review, LocalBusiness, Organization and Person markup. Not every site needs all of them. A software company does not need LocalBusiness markup, and a page without a visible FAQ should not carry FAQPage markup.
Fix parse errors
A parse error means the JSON inside a script block is invalid, so the markup is ignored.
- Look for trailing commas, unescaped quotes and missing brackets.
- Check that template variables are replaced with real values and not left as placeholders.
- Validate the page again after the fix with a structured data testing tool.
Do not mark up what is not there
Markup that claims reviews, ratings or answers that readers cannot see on the page breaks search engine guidelines and can lead to manual actions. Add schema only for content that is genuinely present.
