Reading the PageSpeed Report: Core Web Vitals at Scale

How to triage LCP, INP and CLS issues across thousands of URLs using the PageSpeed report and bubble chart visualizations.
The three metrics
Core Web Vitals measure loading, interactivity and visual stability. Google publishes thresholds for a good result: Largest Contentful Paint at 2.5 seconds or less, Interaction to Next Paint at 200 milliseconds or less and Cumulative Layout Shift at 0.1 or less.
From one page to a whole site
Testing one page at a time hides the pattern. With PageSpeed Insights connected, Jumpple Crawler requests PageSpeed data for the URLs in a crawl and lists the results together with opportunities such as render-blocking requests, network dependency trees and forced reflow. You can sort by the worst values and see whether the problem is one template or the whole site.
Fixes that usually help
The right fix depends on the diagnosis, but a few changes are common.
- Compress and resize large images, and serve modern formats.
- Reduce and defer JavaScript that blocks rendering.
- Reserve space for images and embeds so the layout does not shift.
- Use caching and a content delivery network to lower server response time.
Related SEO Master checks
The Performance category in SEO Master checks image weight, lazy loading, fonts, CSS size, JavaScript size and server response time. They are quick signals from the crawl and do not replace a lab or field measurement, so use them to find candidates and then confirm in the PageSpeed report.
Lab data and field data
Lab data comes from a test run and is good for debugging. Field data comes from real visitors and is what Google uses when it evaluates a page. If the two disagree, trust the field data for the verdict and the lab data for the diagnosis.
